KINGSTON, Canada, December 5, 2002 — You can hear him smiling. His voice is warm. Pleasant. Delightfully British. Lovely! But more than anything else what listeners hear in the voice of Ian Taylor, the British-born, Canadian host of U.S. radio's Creation Moments programs, is enthusiasm.

To say that Taylor, 71, is merely enthusiastic for his subject matter, however, would be an understatement. For the man is in fact, nothing less than passionate about revealing the evidence of God's handiwork in creation.

Creation Moments is a daily, U.S. produced, two-minute radio broadcast that airs on over 1,300 radio stations around the world. Each program focuses on a scientific fact of nature which points to deliberate design, rather than evolutionary chance in the natural world. With approximately 300 programs produced for syndication each year, the subject matter varies widely and covers topics from "How to speak Bee" (the language of bees) to "Your Busy Liver" (the amazing design and function of the human liver).

It was a job he almost didn't accept

Taylor has hosted the programs since 1996. It was a job, he says, he almost didn't accept. "I thought to myself, 'there is no conceivable way I am coming out here,'" he laughs as he remembers, "I've always lived in cities, and this was a little village."

"I love it all...I think if the Lord gives you a job, He puts the love in your heart for the work."
- Ian T. Taylor, author and host of 'Creation Moments' radio show
The little village was Zimmerman, Minnesota, population 1,300 and home to the Bible-Science Association, the charitable organization that produced Creation Moments. Taylor had been recruited to take on the job of Chief Operating Officer of the association, and to become the voice of their radio broadcasts.

It's easy to understand why the ministry wanted him. Now called simply, Creation Moments, the organization's Web site states that they exist "to glorify God, by producing scientific evidences for the literal truth of the Bible." Taylor is an engineer and a scientist. He worked for years in the research labs at Alcan Inc., and was responsible for the development of many new patents. Following a dramatic conversion experience (at a Kathryn Kuhlman miracle service) in 1974 his interest turned to the Bible.

'Maybe the Bible is worth reading'

"You see one miracle that you know is a miracle, and you think, 'well, maybe all the others are true too! So maybe the Bible is worth reading. And I couldn't put it down."
- Ian T. Taylor, author and host of Creation Moments radio show
Says Taylor, "I saw miracles, which I'd never believed in, because with a scientific background, you always have to have a rational explanation for everything. But here were things happening for which there was no rational explanation, except the hand of God. You see one miracle that you know is a miracle, and you think, 'well, maybe all the others are true too! So maybe the Bible is worth reading. And I couldn't put it down."

His interest in his newfound faith led him to a new career ... working for Canada's Crossroads Christian Communications Inc., where he eventually researched and produced 39 programs in a bible-science series called, Crossroads, and later wrote and published a book on the subject of creation versus evolution called, In the Minds of Men: Darwin and the New World Order. Now in its fourth edition, the book has sold more than 25,000 copies.

'If the Lord gives you a job, He puts the love in your heart for the work'

Once he overcame his initial reluctance, Taylor packed up his belongings, said 'good-bye' to 19 years of living in downtown Toronto, and moved to Zimmerman where he worked with Creation Moments until changes in U.S. immigration rules forced him back to Canada.

Ian T. Taylor author and broadcaster works from his home on the St. Lawrence River in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Today, he makes his home in a picturesque setting, by the lake in historic Kingston, Ontario. Taylor says he's slowing down. He makes time for his children and grandchildren on a regular basis, and takes great delight in teaching (through home schooling associations) on his favourite topic; Bible science. Six times a year, he travels to a Toronto studio, where he records the short programs that capture his voice and his values. He may be slowing down, but he admits he can't even think about retiring altogether.

"I don't like not to work. I'm not comfortable not to work. You get into trouble when you don't work," he laughs.

And so, Taylor will continue to be the voice of Creation Moments, at least for the foreseeable future. He admits there's nothing about the job he doesn't enjoy. "I love it all," he reflects, "I think if the Lord gives you a job, He puts the love in your heart for the work."
