BAGHDAD, Iraq, November 26, 2002 (ANS) In spite of rumors of war, the Lebanon Bible Society decided to launch their new Arabic version of the Picture Bible in Bagdad at the first ever Children's Festival.
The theme of the Festival was: "Children of Iraq - the Future of Our Country". At the official opening, Deputy Minister of Information, Dr. Riad Jaadri, said that the Children of Iraq - the ones who will continue building this nation - need our united efforts so that they will be given the very best when it comes to educational material.

The Deputy Minister as well as the organizers of the Book Fair also thanked the participants who despite rumors and threats of war had been willing to take part in this festival.
The Lebanon Bible Society chose this opportunity to launch the Arabic Picture Bible because the Church of Iraq has been waiting years for it.
Many visitors came to the Bible Society booth, where they could see and buy the Picture Bible, Lion's 365 Story Bible - in Arabic, Aramaic and Armenian, as well as Bible story books, coloring books, Bibles, New Testaments and Bible Commentaries.
During the first hour of the festival two newspaper journalists and a TV reporter came over for interviews. The media attention kept the Bible Society staff busy trying to explain both the aims of the Bible Society and the many children's scriptures on display. Each reporter received a signed copy of the Picture Bible.
